These ratchet spanners aren't the best solution for this bolt as they are a bit too thick and can slip off the head easily and/or round it off(bolt head is quite low, there is not much space in there and these spanners have slightly rounded ring profile).
This bolt can also be quite easily snapped if its proper rusty(I've snapped couple of them over the years, then its never a fun job to get it out as you'd need a welder).
Best way to remove it is to use correct size angled long reach ring spanner(not a normal flat one but where ring is slightly angled to the rest of spanner), beats me if I can remember what size it was though, either 11/16 or a 17mm. When you remove the side bracket for the aframe and the whole side drops down slightly on that side, you will have more space to get to that bolt from underneath the car with the spanner pointing forward. When you crack it loose with the ring spanner, only then you can put a socket over it(use an impact gun socket for tight fit) and use extendable hinged ratchet on it, which by the way is an absolute must have tool for X300 rear suspension. With the ratchet pointing forward with the car and down there is plenty space in there between the body and aframe to get it out.
I've actually got a single ring spanner just to remove this one bolt, its somewhere in the garage and exclusively used just for this bolt![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
