Genuine Interior Rear View Mirror For Jaguar Xj 1995 - 1997 (from 720125 To 812255) Classic | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts

Notice the 3 options which includes the 6 wire more oval shape you received in your second pic ( listing error you can use in your refund argument )

Without looking yet there may be a number on the mirror shell that may be a casting #

The donor car I pulled your center console from is a 97 and may still have the mirror in place as this should be the upgraded X300 version with the more angled lower corners in your first pic

Whilst number 3 looks like the one i received it is different .
as when you read the descriptions it states options as either
white plug 4 wires
white plug 3 wires
Yellow plug 3 wires.

the 6 wire version is for the x308s that had light sensing auto on headlights.

i am always happy to have help sourcing parts but i would confirm if you should maybe grab the a mirror until i hear what is going on from these guys.
given i also received a glovebox from a x308 i think these guys do not know their x300s from the x308s.
even though they are a triumph, land rover and jaguar specialist. The only 3 makes they are wrecking.

i am also thinking maybe going the after market option might be worth it as although it is not OEM it is brand new. And replace 2nd hand with 2nd hand i may just end up with a broken one in short time.

hoping to be able to organise to get stuff paid for and shipped from you soon.
will be exciting to be able to replace my arm rest.
was also thinking of installing a LED light onto the lid once i receive it to illuminate the console when open.

Trying to set tomorrow early to get to the salvage yard and see if the donor car has 3 - 6 wires and a part #

I'll get a pic but not going to be a sunny day tomorrow.

Still need to move the seat back for for the seat belt receiver and hand brake switch.

I think I'm missing a item you wanted

Once the mirror is identified as the one you may want and I will have to find out the best way to remove the glass mount but will remove tomorrow the rest to have it in possession and can put on E- bay along with the later retrieved mount if you don't need it

That's the theoretical plan

To get on the good side of your salvage yard the X308 is close but with the V8 after Ford , Fordized it

After Ford ruied the brand they sold it off to someone else

Shift lever square chrome surround and black plastic larger surround that receives the normal / sport switch.

Already have the black plastic sliver on the lower edge of the ski slope and the jack points rubber caps along with center console leather on it's assembly with chrome hold open rod and cupholder with leather curved lid on it's assembly.

In another recent pic of your leather looks like a match ln any case the leather is in great condition. Just not as nice as mine on M ' Lady Penelope ( must have been garaged in her previous life )

But I put leather conditioner on mine

sounds good to me…….
i am sure the leather will be better than a lot of what i have.
my girl was certainly driven not hidden in her previous life.

my only concern with taking a mirror from a parts car is making sure it works and will keep working.

I know and have seen on my original the decolorization when bad

I can wire it up and test the donor car mirror at home with a flashlight and a open garage at night to see the items in the lite garage change reflection brightness in the mirror.

I need to start my car and turn it around in the driveway anyway

The test may work at the salvage yard in daylight as I need to put a battery in the donor car and unlock the shift lever to remove the ski slope as trapped

I will then remove the ignition switch for myself for future needs

as my car does not have a garage door opener function maybe i should upgrade to one of these mirrors.

i can't find anything here (i don't think they are for this market) but they seem common enough over in the states.
