Default Replacment boot badges. new / custom?

so i was looking around to try and source replacment badges for my boot.
mine has green backed badges and i was wanting to replace them with the grey to match my car better.

so i need
JAGUAR
SOVEREIGN
and the growler button.
now everything i have come across at this point is worn/damaged to some degree and it is hard to justify spenmding on something that is in worse condition than what is on my car just cus the colour is better.
Especially the Sovereign badge is hard to find as it seems most of the grey backed badges come from the X308's and state XJ8 on them.

So i was looking at custom print of the PU domed / resin domed stickers however all the companies i can see are all commercial and would require MOQ of atleast 100 stickers of each type.

so a few questions.

Does anyone know where some good condition 2nd hand ones are?
Does anyone make these new?
Does anyone know of any companies that will do domed stickers as only like 1 or 2 of each?
If a large order of 100 or more was placed, would others be interested in buying new stickers to replace the badge inserts?

I think the demand is slight, so new manufacturing would be too expensive. That leaves us to shop for whats out there and perhaps go to our own mods for something like this. There was a way to mod and/or recolor the wheel badges. It might be in the stickies. I don't know if that would be useful here.

I had thought about re-badging my car as a Daimler/Double-Six. I'm not hard core about originality, but I do like uniqueness. My old license plate was Double6. But again, no one would know what I was talking about! Maybe I will reconsider if I can find the hardware. I'm not real keen on the green/silver badges. Grille, Stylized D wheel caps etc. to complete the look. On JCP, the Daimler rear badging is in Ruby/Gold. £57.80 for the Daimler badge, wow. DD6 NLA.

I just saw that the "Majestic" badge is available in Ruby/Gold..... I might go for that!

There is a badge called "Centenary". I don't recall that one, apparently it is a Daimler model.

yeah unfortunately i agree....
i have aftermarket rims and therefore got some nice aftermarket growler centre caps.
as far as boot badges i have an idea i am going to try, and see how it looks and how it lasts.

i am going to use a 3 layered vinyl.
i am going to get a matte charcoal vinyl to use as a base, to match my car finish,
then get JAGUAR and SOVEREIGN printed and cut in a nice chrome vinyl (or similar), and then lay the text over the top,
then lay a PPF clear film over the top.
in theory it will look good and allow customization in any colour easy. mostly it will come down to potential longevity.

just looking for the right person atm who can print and cut the vinyl text for me.
there are many options thanks to ebay and custom vinyls

i really thought about getting either the DAIMLER or MAJESTIC badges.

yeah the century was from a daimler double six

oh my...
actually just found a supplier of new...
but god damn the price!!!!
https://www.limora.com/nl/jaguar/jag...nd-nameplates/

but i think you need to.
DAIMLER, MAJESTIC in ruby/gold on your car would look MINT!!!!!!

Trying to find the best font i can use to make it look as authentic as possible.
Jaguar JC is the best i have found.
it looks really good. the biggest thing for me is the G on Sovereign is very different.
looks good tho
the bottom version of Sovereign has very tight character spacing
would be happy to see if anyone has any better font ideas

Yes I think I'm going for it. Thanks for the links. Now to be sure, a Majestic should be a Daimler, not a Jaguar. Right? The US Majestics of 1989-90 were badged "Vanden Plas" on the left and "Majestic" on the right, since "Daimler" wasn't used in the US. Uh boy...

All of the US Majestics were red. Possibly worldwide?

Fonts.... those look good. I see the difference in the "g" in Sovereign. I still think you could pull it off. Good plans. Try making a lower case Jaguar to go with the lower case Sovereign. You don't need to scream "JAGUAR". It should be subtley obvious.

Fonts.... why is the Majestic badge on JCP shown (as a drawing) in capital letters? All the real photos are lower case. I don't need to scream "MAJESTIC", it should be subtley obvious! As is the wonderful Daimler badge. I'm getting that one because I love how it looks.

The majestics are daimlers which is why the ruby and gold.

so you would be looking for the D boot button, Daimler and majestic badges.

i will post a few samples soon.
i have been playing around in word with frames and fonts to get the correct measurments.

I do not know enough about the majestic name plate to know why some are lower and some are upper. It is a very rare nameplate.

jaguar vanden plas replaces the daimler six and double six.
So i am not sure how and US majestics may have been badged. As there is no left hand vanden plas badge

i do know that century was only made as 100 i6 and 100 V12s as the full top level luxury trim.

i thought about a daimler badge as i too love them.
but would then feel i need to change all other badges.
so i will just keep it as Jag and maybe one day buy a double six.

I have a set of Ruby/Gold wheel growlers (not the D) but the growlers have faded to silver.

The "born with" VIN for my car shows M for Majestic according to the worldwide decoder. So whatever it means, I'm running with it!

You could re-badge your car with this:

Along with a matching X308 black JAGUAR badge you would be all genuine, if not specifically "correct". Easy. This one is used, but what a deal.

Here is where I am at.
So i currently have these in a word document in frames that are the correct size as per the badges so if printed they will print correct size so i could make sure the text fits properly.
I did test the Jaguar without all capitals.
not sure what i prefer as Jag themselves do write in capitals.
unlike how daimler is written.

as per your above message, from the X308's there are factory Sovereign and Jaguar in the chrome on grey, so they are available. however, all the ones i have found with SOV are all damaged.
and as you can tell from my car, i do like customizing anyway.

but.... just looking at the x308 text that is the same G as what i am looking at here. so the x308 had a different g to the X300

another option i could do is holographic chrome letters.
and well any kind of backing vinyl
like a rainbow metallic black backing
i think that might be a bit excessive and over the top.....
but hey if i do go this route than anything will be possible.
aslong as they make the vinyl colour it could be done.

If you are on Facebook, this guy was offering ( in the jaguar xj x300 group) custom badges 2 years ago. He is still active, but not sure if he is still doing the badges, but worth a try?

Default My new badges are gorgeous!

And I do mean gorgeous, they are like candy. I want to lick them!

They look better in person than in photos, because of the 3-D gold lettering above the shimmering ruby background. It is not easy to capture a good representative photo. Yes they are the same size. They are tilted in this photo to try to capture the light without washing out.

These are also the clear resin badges as seen on the X308s.

They came from Adamesh UK. They claimed to have the Double Six badge too, and I ordered it, but got refunded as it is NLA. I think they simply ordered my badges from Jaguar Classic (which shows D-6 NLA) and then added them to my box with a few other items, since my order didn't ship out for over a week. Then they forgot to refund another missing item. Not the best quality shopping experience.

It is fairly amazing that the beautiful Majestic nameplate never found a home on any X300s, yet genuine badges were produced for it. Jaguar's plans for reviving the name must have been scrapped.

I'm not going through with a full re-badge/Daimler conversion at this time, but I will be using these two new badges on my XJ12! It is worthy.

They look great.
For info the ‘Majestic’ is the long wheel base version of the XJ40, code named XJ83 (3.2/4.0) and XJ82 (V12) which was only available for the 1993 and 1994 model years, almost at the end of XJ40 production, when all of the bugs had been ironed out and XJ40 had reached its peak.

Amazing.
i bet they will look fantastic once installed.
Sounds like similar experience to what i had with adamesh.
1 item fantastic. 1 nla and bad customer service.

too bad for me the ruby doesn’t fit my colour scheme.
I really want my grey jag and sov badges.
would love to be able to custom make and get purples to match the intended future colour of my car

Years ago I changed the color of my Ford badges by sanding down the paint on the back side leaving a clear enamel with the chromed letters still intact as they were indented. Then paint the back of the emblem with your desired color.
I haven't tried this on the Jag badges, but it looks like it could be done. You might need a heat gun to release the enamel.

Might be worth picking up a second hand set to try this on. Would be nice if that worked.

Found these on Jaguar Parts site under x308 as i wanted the dark metallic grey badges.

the Jaguar badge is dated 2023 so looks to still be in production.
the Sovereign badge is dated 2012 so likely out of production since them.
hense why it seems so hard to find
cost a little. But worth it. Will def need them if i do get the car resprayed……
