Is this the right Model
I have a whole load of documentation for my Jag, including the original sales invoice, service record book and every MOT since 1998, but nothing that fits in with the model classifications on this forum. Reading several posts I am making a guess that the X300/XJR is the right model, BUT if you know better please help.
The car is described as a Jaguar Sovreign 3.2 LWB, and was first registered in September 1995.
Once I can get clarification, I can start looking for solutions to my mainly electrical gremlins. Thanks

Super rare
If you really have a 3.2 litre LWB Sovereign, then you have an extremely rare car. I know, because I have one too and it took me about a year to find one. They made just 305 in that specification because, let's face it, who's going to pay extra for the LWB and then skimp on the engine? Mine gets weirder still because despite being an LWB (which mean you probably want to sit in the back) it has Sports suspension (which means you probably want to be in the driver's seat).
There's a Euro-spec VIN decoder here: xclusively jaguar. US VINs might be different, but if you post it, I've got the VIN numbers PDF from the JDHT X300 Supplementary DVD so I can look it up.
Anyway, it's a cracking car so I hope you get it all fixed. If in doubt, try a new crank sensor

It was offered in Sport, Executive and Sovereign options which represented different trim levels. The LWB body was available with whatever trim option the buyer chose. In practice, this would usually be Sovereign.
I expect your car would have been originally purchased by a Company or Local Authority?

Thanks
Jpster, thankjs for the info, I have looked at the site recommended, and it all checks out, my car is a genuine 3.2 LWB Sovreign. I didn't realise that it was so rare.
Graham, you are right, the car was originally purchased by a chaufeur drive company. It was sold to the company that I work for as a driver, (anything from a school bus to a hearse, and sometimes general chaufeur drive), and I drove it many times for the company before they decided to standardise the fleet, it's all mercs now. Anyway I bought the car and used it regularly until last year when I put it on a SORN. I have problems with the steering column movement, but hopefully finding the solution on this site.
