Scanner help
New owner here (yes I introduced myself on the Introduction Forum).
Been searching info here on scanners. I see the Autoenginuity is a preferred unit for these cars. I got most of my hits on the XJ8 Forum. Not too much here on X300.
My question is, since my X300 is the first year for OBDII, is the Autoenginuity still the best bet? Is there an interim unit I should consider for just starting out?
Just some brief background: I also own a Porsche Boxster and have a scanner made by Durametric. It is Porsche specific and drives software in a laptop. Pretty intense for me, but at least I can find out what O2 sensor needs replacement (there are 4).
The only problems I am having at present are the usual ABS and Trac Control along with a CEL. When I bought the car, I had it inspected and a few things repaired. The lights came on on the way home first day. I was told the CEL was probably an O2 sensor, but I need my own scanner to verify.
Want to toss your thoughts in on this?
TIA.
