I stripped the near perfect drivers seat base cushion out of a flood damaged car and successfully put it onto my seat. However that was drivers seat to drivers seat.
I take it that living in New Mexico you have the drivers seat on the left hand side of the vehicle and passenger seat on the right. ( we are opposite to that in Australia being right hand drive)
In your case remember that the passenger seat has adjustment switches on the right hand side and the drivers seat has switches on the left hand side
In your proposal it is "doable" however you will have to cut the replacement seat cover to allow access to the seat adjustment switches. In addition you may have to patch the hole left over from the old switch position.
Actually because the hole left over will be low and almost against the centre console it won't be a real problem unless you are into concourse.
The seat back will present no problems and should be interchangeable.
Cheers

Bill, Yes we have left hand drive. My car is not Concorso level, so I do like that idea about swapping the seats and cutting an opening for the seat control buttons. That's especially helpful, since most of the used examples are almost always from the passenger side. Thanks for your suggestions!
