Seat differences?
Hello there. I am new to Jaguars and to this forum. I have bought myself an X300 Sport and was wondering if there are any differences between the seats of the X300 and the X308?
I ask this as there is a gap of up to an inch between the back of the seat base and the bottom of the backrest. I have heard that the X308 had a different base which was flatter and thought that this might explain it. The car has had an interesting life and the interior could be the one of many things that have been changed in its time.
Also, the leather has some imperfections which grate on me such as the odd rip, a vinyl replacement patch and some scratches and puncture marks. The only seat which has weathered well and showing appropriate patina is the passenger seat.
Any help would be appreciate. Thanks!

I think it depends on what year X300 you have (good idea to put it in your signature).
Early X300s (95 and 96 I think) had a centre lap belt. Later cars (some point in 97 ?) had 3 point centre belt.
The change to centre belt also is a significant change in the rear seat and also the actual chassis mounting points/method for the rear seat and belts. I think the X308 seats are compatible with the 3 point rear belt X300s only.
