Hello everyone, i recently picked up a 95 xj6 for super cheap. i have been fixing the problems myself trying to get the car to be a fun little toy. im stuck however on a few problems that i cant find a decent answer or i just dont want to spend hours trying to figure it out. so i will list several issues and maybe one of you can help me pinpoint or even fix my problems....i hope.
1. SRS light on /Airbag on display. - its always on and i cant figure out why checked fuses....any ideas?
2. Left turn signal dont work....i checked bulbs, fuses and the housing....they all work...tested by plugging in the right side.....im thinking maybe a ground issue or the actual plug from the car. idk its been making me mad....also fog light dont work too.

Your OBDII port has a fuse supplying it, that may be blown. I forget which one it is and in which fuse block, but the tool box lid under the bonnet will tell you. Once you get that working, the proper version of WDS will tell you what is wrong with the airbag system. Failing that, there is an exhaustive troubleshooting guide in the stickies that will walk you through it until the culprit is identified without benefit of the greater module scanning tools.

I had a problem with the airbag light which proved difficult to track down. Cutting a long story short, it was the connector to the airbag module which is located behind the glovebox on RHD cars. The connectors to the airbag module are 2 x multipin (24pins?) connectors which contain what is called a shorting bar. To see this, you need to look end on into the plug, and you will see a different coloured strip of plastic. Pull it out, and all will become clear. Basically it’s purpose is to put the airbag light on in the event that either of the plugs should become disconnected from the airbag module. Effectively a safety feature to let you know that the system would not work in the event of an emergency.
In my car, the tension in the wiring loom and the angle it turned through to plug into the module had, over time, managed to pull the connector just enough for the shirting bar to make contact and illuminate the airbag light. Simple to fix, but a nightmare to find!
