is it starter motor or something different? no start
Started up the car today in the morning to pick shopping, no problems, then drove back home, no problems. Then in the evening went to start it up, turned key in the ignition, everything else seemed normal, but instead of starting up there was just a single 'CLICK' and that's it. It's a manual 3.2 so microswitch is is deffinitely not an option here. Battery seems to be good, since everything else works well, without any delays. My guess is there's something wrong with starter motor or connection somewhere? But before that starter never had any problems!

Firecrow:
Although your explanation of the events is good so there is no ambiguityin this case in what is happening, the situation you have is usually called "No Crank", as opposed to "No Start" among gearheads.
As Ziggy pointed out, the battery is a likely cause, but also check the connections at the underhood bulkhead electrical connectors. They are where the large black cables pass through the firewall near the hood latches and at the fuse boxes. Sometimes they loosen and get corroded.

When I woke up today, I remembered that I have AA full breakdown cover with my bank account. So called them up, 20 minutes later big yellow van turned up on my driveway. Bloke checked the battery, but it was fine, as I thought. So he started poking around under the bonnet, he said 'starter motor solenoid', didn't want engage properly, so he started poking it, but that didn't work. Jacked up the car, started testing the circuits, which was a bit complicated since battery is in the boot :-/ Anyway, wiggled with some cables and... IT STARTED So his diagnosis was, that there's bad connection somewhere, suggested getting the starter motor off and giving them a good clean. Said that the ground is good, but it's one of the live connections somewhere that's causing trouble. Anyway, got it working, so that's the most important thing!
