An easy place to begn is carefully checking the battery cables at the battery. Are they clean and tight? Really tight?
These cars are very sensitive to battery condition and such.
Also, there are "+" voltage junction/distribution posts at the firewall and at the fuse boxes at the right left fenderwells.
There ae many other possibilities (including many other places where a poor connection can occur) but you got begin somewhere.....
Cheers

key only unlocking the driver's door is normal, but I think you should've gotten interiour illumination. Takes a double-twist to unlock the rest of the doors. Sounds like inertia switch or something afoul of the security system...somehow it isn't satisfied it should restore the starter-interlock.
Nahh..wait...am I mixed up? I think inertia switch would let you crank, just never start...it secures pwr to the fuel pump, no?

If you locked the car with the key (not using the remote) and activated that chirp, it SHOULD unlock everything with the key again, and then you turn the ignition to position 2 to de-activate the security within 30 seconds??.
The enertia does only kill engine start as you thought, it will crank all day, but no fire.
I reckon you have a battery issue, or voltage out of battery issue, OR the syecurity system is just having a Jaguar moment, and that can be anything I suppose, and having never experienced one of those moments I am not much help.
A common suggestion, and Doug has mentioned it, is to remove the battery cables, clean them as mentioned, and resecure them. The removal will/can "clear" any issues, and the cleaning will do no harm.
You may be lucky.
