Steering wheel leather cover; replacement leather shift knob
My leather steering wheel has alot of cuts in it from presumably previous owners using it for car enty support while holding keys in their hands. I'm thinking this because I did it few times myself after first acquiring the car; the car is lower than often one is used to (although I love that it is! - I love the fact that the XJ6 is lower and wider than most cars). Does anyone have a recommendation for a quality leather overwrap that won't look lame?
Also, any recommendations on a OE leather shift knob will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Try these:
Wheelskins - The World's Finest Genuine Leather Motoring Accessories, Steering Wheel Covers, Driving Gloves and Shift Boots
I put one on another, non Jag, car I had and if you choose the right color and take your time on the install, it looks pretty good.

I replaced the tan leather shift knob in my BRG model with a black leather one from Welsh Enterprises:
Welsh Enterprises, Inc - Jaguar XJ6(95-97) / X300 Accessories Parts
Cost was very reasonable, and they have wood ones too. To me, the problem with a wood one is, if it isn't from the same batch of wood that the center console was made from, it won't match. I got a black leather one instead of a tan one because the black looked better, with all the black from the radio and other controls in the center stack, and the black plastic around the center transmission area.

Hmmm....Wheelskins looks like a good product, but looking at their website gallery there are photos of some car models with thinner wheels that look fine with the cover, and others with thicker wheels that really look too thick with the cover. I'll bet the jag wheel will look too thick. I'll have to think on it. If it were not for the air bag I'd consider changing out the steering wheel.
Regarding the shift knob, I'd really like to replace the knob in-kind with an OE leather one. Problem is I'm not sure of the color. Could be coffee, or doeskin; I don't know which came with Cream interior. I think ebay and partouts are my best bet. I appreciate the links though.
Thanks all.
