So after having some symtons of a sticky throttle, i l clean the TB and adjusted the spring.

For about a week everything was going great, until yest. the car start accelerating by itself again. Only seems to do this after getting up to highway speeds. Driving at speeds before 50mph the car acts fine. But as sure as i get up past that speed then the car will act up. Irractic idle, acceleration by itself.

Any other sugg.?

How did you clean the TB? Did you remove it, and get rid of all the "gunk"? Or, did you just shoot it with some TB cleaner? When attaching it, were you certain to use some sort of sealant, and not just leave it as metal touching metal? If so, then I don't know.

I'm assuming the spring is fine since you can drive normally until you hit 50 mph. Just imagine what would happen once you hit 88 mph.

 

Yea i removed it, but left the water lines connected. I gave it a real good clean, because it was pretty heavily gunked up. And that worked fine for about a week.

Its when im coming down from highway speeds (ie paying a toll, or coming off the highway), the idle will be up high around 1500 rpm and slowly come down to 750. And will want to accelerate on its own.

I didnt put on sealant when i put the TB back on, could i be getting a vaccum leak from it?

Dont have any codes showing.

Hit 88mph? what would happen then??
