Strange result with 02 sensors
I was replacing my rear 02 sensors (downstream?) and found it easier to cut the wires. I then had to drive my car up onto ramps to remove the sensors. Before any of this, my cel was on for over a month. When I drove the car onto my ramps the cel was out.
Why would this happen? What would happen if I didn't replace the rear sensors?
I'm just curious as to why the light went off!

Well, how about checking the OBD2 codes to see if there is any thing? You know like plug in a code reader and see what it says?
Also -- does the cel light-up on bulb-check at start up ?
I know on the later software, you can have "pending" codes, but I don't know if the X300 block has that, since it was an early OBD2 product.
Without the sensors, the ECM will not have feedback on how the fuel is burning, etc. so it should complain pretty quick.
