Sunroof headaches
It appears my sunroof "arm" has broken off on the one side. Not sure if it's the whole thing but it's about 2 inches long. When I want the sunroof to go backwards it will go back but gets twisted because only then one side is pulling back. What is the name of this part? Is it replaceable. Would love to use the sunroo soon!

I drove a Series III XJ6 several years ago that a co-worker of mine had, and one thing from that driving experience I distinctly remember. I decided to open the sunroof, and I had all the windows closed. As soon as it opened all the way, the wind buffeting inside the car was so bad I thought my ears were going to pop. I had to open the windows some to relieve the pressure. I wish my X300 had a moonroof, like my wife's '92 MBZ 400SE, so I could at least LOOK thru it, instead of the headliner. I've opened the sunroof on mine to test it, but other than that, it stays closed.

Take a look at the link below - I know not Jaguar but this might help - My sight shield broke in my 00 S Type and I ordered a replacement sight shield from the Sunroof Doctor and it worked like a charm

You are looking for, what they call, tilt and slide mechanisms. The parts numbers I listed are for left and right. It is best to do both while you have it apart. One thing I do want to point out (cause it happens on my car from time to time), is that the arm that springs out of place may have just worked its way out of the hole it should stay in. The rear section of sunroof headliner has the hole that slides and moves in time with this arm that pops out. Inspect the hole to make sure it is there and intact before trying to put the arm back in place. If the hole is damaged or missing, tilt and slides will need to be replaced. If the hole is there, GENTLY bend the arm past the hole GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY!!!! If you break it, you need tilt and slides. You want the arm to have a little preload when it is in the hole so that it stays in. Search on this forum and read up on the bulletins listed as well. I have done so many of those tilt and slides i could probably do them in my sleep.
