Default Is there reason to use the key FOB?

I recently bought a 1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas (US version). The batteries in the key FOBs were dead. I prefer just using the key as it is less to carry around. My car came with a phone in the center armrest which I may remove (along with the antenna). My question is what am I giving up by not using the key FOB? I am single and do not care about seat presets. Am I missing out on any security features?

Remove the batteries from the FOBs to keep old batteries from corroding and ruining the FOBs

The FOBs are very expensive for this car

You can watch this vid for a full functioning FOB to see features in the security section

just note. not all markets and trim levels had all same options.
ie, in australia no alarm.
some cars have tilt sensor, some not,
some have internal motion detection, some do not.

Hi Tstiglich, welcome.

A couple ideas for the USA cars:

The key fob allows you to disarm the alarm as you walk directly to the trunk to open it with the button on the trunk lid (or the key). Do not open the trunk with the key if the alarm is set, the key lock does not deactivate the alarm. The key fob also allows you to activate the headlamps for 20 seconds after you lock the car.

Otherwise, operation of the doors, locks and alarm can be made with the key. Your 95 should have key barrels on both front doors (that's convenient). The passenger side was deleted for the 96. The second turn of the driver's key lock unlocks all the doors. Holding it in lock position gives you auto-close for the windows.

You probably figured out some of this by now, and some more things are in the old video if you watched it.
