Default Thinking about selling my 1996 XJ6

I have a 1996 XJ6 Vanden Plas with only 53k miles The car is like new!! It is a time-capsule example. All service done @ Jaguar dealer from day one. I live in San Jose California. How much do you guys think this car is worth?

I have 4 cars and not enough space!

KBB is around 7900, I took a bit off for the economy. Of course salesmanship always helps. It is probably worth 11k in all actuality.
I don't think you could get a better car for that money.

You'd probably get more money over on the west coast,
eastcoast side over here I wouldn't pay more than 6500 in absolutely immaculate showroom condition.

realistically, though, I would probably cave and be willing to pay a premium for one in such good condition, considering the state of dilapidation of most on the market locally today.

I paid 7500 for my 96 XJ6 three and some years ago. with plenty wrong with it. but it was in the best shape out of all of the ones I test drove and searched out.
oops.

a dealer in ft. wayne, indiana, had a 95 XJR for sale that I bought a year and a half ago, and as I was meandering about I saw the sale poster in the coffee room boasting "1995 XJR, beautiful! 11,995, deal!!"

I bought it for 4500.

As much as I hate to admit it myself, these cars really do not retain value at all, considering they were upwards of $60k brand new.

I just bought this 1996 XJR for 4k. 90k miles almost immaculate. A few weeks later I have 1k in it and it looks almost like new. Just gotta fix these pesky rims. The clear coat looks really s****y.

much agreed,
the X300 stock wheels are rather dumb.
like everyone at the factory realized, "oh ****, we need rims!"

I fixed that problem :]

I am considering a powder coat for them. I would really like to keep the stock rims, I like the design, just not that inherent flaw.

I listed locally. I will not take less than $10900 for it. A guy, came and looked at it but he wanted to pay $9600, but I didn't take it. The car is showroom condition. Will wait and see what happens. If it doesn't sell, then I will just keep it!
