Default Turn signal problem

When I turn on my left hand turn signal all the lights that should come on do turn on and they flash. I get the same correspondent lights when I put on the right turn signal. The problem is that for a half second everything is fine, then the flasher get quicker and the bulb out indicator turns on. But again all the turn signals light are flashing (just faster).

What could cause the system to think that a bulb is out?

Thanks!!

Stab in the dark, coz I got caught out.

1) There are 2 bulbs in each front bumper flasher lamp, maybe one is out on each side, stranger things have happened.

2) The loom connector, in each corner of the bumper undertray, where it meets the fender, on each side, is full of crud.
COMMON, and that will reek havoc.
Take the undertray off, if its still there, mine were missing, and reach in and unplug that loom connector. Clean the both sections, I used Lemon Juice, then flushed with a WD40 type spray,, replug, try it.

I had a chance today to look into the ideas that Grant posted but no luck.

Is there a way to determine the location that is giving the wrong information to the computer?

Thank you!

on later cars (96 and up) the bulb check is run by the BPM and that could be the issue or a bad local ground.

Is it possible that there is a bad ground but the bulbs still work?
