Use a Larger than OEM Auxiliary Water Pump?
Hi Folks,
I need to replace the auxiliary (secondary) water pump on my 1997 XJ6 w/ 4.0 (NA). The original is a Denso MNA6710AB and I just happen to have a new Bosch that is used on the X308 AJV8. I'd need to splice a Bosch connector onto the pigtail from the Denso and jerry-rig bracket mount but that shouldn't be a problem.
The question is will installing an auxiliary water pump that is larger than OEM cause any immediate or long term damage or should I not worry?
I tried to find flow rate and pressure specs for the Denso to compare to the Bosch but came up empty. Thank you for any help.
