Finally fixed my leaking valve cover gasket. Damn thing was leaking so bad, that I got massive smoke under the bonnet from oil burning on my exhaust manifolds. Two threads were stripped so we helicoiled them with my friend, added a new layer of sealant, old gasket in and no more leaks.
Then attended the autumn youngtimer car event: "Cars and Coffee". No X300`s there, but made friends with an X308 owner. Nice guy, got some info about scrapyards and used parts.

today I did some cleanup detailing in the engine bay
i used 3m di-noc vinyl wrap for the fuel rail and coil pack cover
touched-up the red lettering by spraying vht high temp onto a flat piece of cardboard and then useing a flat foam brush to apply
very inexpensive to improve the look under the hood, also hoses were heat wrapped and then covered with,"split loom"..

Impressive painting of the letters, but can you show us your tools and how to do it? Have made several attempts before but results were not satisfactory. Need steady hands, patience and care to do it well. Thought that masking the adjacent areas and then spray with high temperature paint would be a way to go.

I just used,"vht high temp",spray paint, sprayed onto a flat piece of cardboard, then used a flat foam,"home depot",paint brush to apply.for the di-noc vinyl,i used an old cheap pointed cutter, there were small spots that needed to be touched-up,i sprayed liquid silicon onto another flat cardboard, then used a q-tip for the touchup

Installed the twin sun blind/shades on the rear package shelf. I've had them on-hand for a couple years, but only just took out the back seat and package shelf when I replaced the fuel pumps. So this was a good time.
The holes are already in the package shelf underside, and one just has to poke the mounting studs through the vinyl and bolt it on.
If one has the "premium" sound system with the package shelf mounted subwoofer, then the two piece shade/blind is required.
For the Nimbus Grey interior, those part numbers are:
LH side - Nimbus Grey
HNA1823AALFJ
RH side - Nimbus Grey
HNA1822AALFJ
Can be ordered as a set:
Old part number JLM11832LFJ
New part number JLM21262LFJ
.

yesterday,i repaired the broken cupholder tab mount. I used black Permatex weld to build up a base, for the,"hole", I used a "q-tip",with the end cut off,and several wraps of Teflon plumbers tape to create the correct outside diameter. after 24 hours,i applied a second coat for more strength, and waited another 24 hours for cure, the q-tip removed easy, and left a perfect hole. I used a manicure file to remove some excess and now it works as good as new. total cost was 7 dollars for the Permatex weld..

I installed powerflex subframe bushings yesterday,i was impressed with the improvement in the ride quality, since I had over 206,000 miles on the originals,it was done as preventative maintenance, they compliment the Bilstein performance shocks, poly sway bar bushings, andy droplinks, andy bracket, greater air intake, ceramic coated exhaust manifold.next to be done is the front suspension,i already bought the parts,so,onward we go
some detailed small changes...it never ends.

Any luck with the CD player code as I can remove the patch cable from the donor car and you can hook up with the CD changer sitting it the passenger seat for testing
When you get the CD player straightened out here is a very British song for you to enjoy . So much so it makes the queen cry
From 1898 so it's high faluten music so shut the engine off and close your eyes and think of England and it's majesty as you absorb it's richness.
