In that case a waste of Claude's and your time.
Apologies, I really thought we'd cracked it.

Dear Grant,

I am afraid that you are right.

I can't find any door modules in any of my books neither.

But the mystery remains:

Where are the contacts that turn on the interior lights when we ooen a door ? I do not see any physical contacts

Where is the memory module for the seat, steering wheel and outer mirror memory ?

Unfortunatelly the solution proposed by Steve was too good!

I al still in the dark !

Steve,

No such thing as a waste of time, just more time to drink some more whilst we ponder the possibilities.

Claude,

That 'contacts" as you ask, is a TINY, and I mean TINY, micro switch hidden in the depths of the lock, and when the lock cam rotates as you open the door the heel of it touches the button and closes the contacts, which turns ON the lights, and STARTS the timer. When the door is closed, the heel moves away from the button, the switch opens the contacts, BUT the timer still has control, hence the dimming of the interior lights some seconds after closing the last door. SOOO, my theory is, that if the contacts of that switch are stuck "closed" the circuit is being kept active, (as in a door open), and the timer has done its "max time" of 5 minutes, and put the lights to "sleep", (normal) and they stay that way until a door is reopened, BUT, the contacts being stuck closed prevents the timer from "re-arming", and also the lights coming back on.

I have attached an Adobe doc for the interior lights, that may make sense to you??.

Also the second Adobe is showing where modules are in your car, and is on page 128 of that doc, and shows the "column/mirror CM" as item 5 and may also be of assistance to you. Plan B, file tooooo big, so printed/scanned, and attached as a stand alone.

Here's a guide that gives step by step instructions on how to disassemble the door.
