Default What is this (in the engine bay) and how bad is it that it's cracked?

So, after the saga of replacing the spark plug seals and valve cover gasket and repairing the bolts I broke I thought everything was perfect in the engine. NOPE!

I noticed another oil leak. Luckily, it's not coming from anything I just fixed.

To the left of the numbers/letters you can see a hefty crack. What is this that's cracked, and how bad is it with regards to my car functioning? I'm assuming that the oil is being blown up to the upper section to where the numbers/letters are printed and then it's dripping back down. Unless there is another place for oil to leak.

Looks like it's the piece that the power steering pump attaches to....not sure of the exact name

From the pics I'd say you have an oil leak at the cylinder head gasket near exhaust port cylinder 1...just like I have. As regards the power steering part - I'm not so sure your picture shows there is an oil leak there. Clean/degrease the area, then run the car at idle and see if you can see any seepage from both areas.

I've cleaned the area several times, and can't tell where it's coming from. It only starts to leak noticeably after driving for 30 minutes or so.

If it is an oil leak at the cylinder head gasket near exhaust port cylinder 1 how would I go about fixing that, or rather how long can I continue ignoring this, and if I continue ignoring this will it one day get so horribly bad that a disaster happens or will it be more gradual?
