Default What is this wire connector at back of engine (X305 MY95 XJ12)

I am looking at the back edge of the V12 motor in the 1995 XJ12 I recently acquired and I see this connector just hanging loose just above where the oil pressure sender is located.

I thought at first it was a connector for an O2 sensor but the connectors for the forward O2 sensors are located just outside and below the back edge of the intake plenums.

Any ideas?

Only Japan market X305s got exhaust temp sensors, maybe an unpopulated connector for those.... Just a guess. I got no ID. I'll look at my own car when I have the hood open next.

The forum has an X305 subsection. Mods?

Correct, John, Japan market exhaust temp sensor connection, hanging loose.

The wiring harnesses were the same for all worldwide markets, hence the unused connector here and there around the car. Heated windshield, power wash, car phone etc. The power hookups you reminded me of are useful extras.
