Salvage yard

There are many different part # s on the ECU and one for California

Before you launch that parts cannon , what is your issue ?

Plug and play with the replacement ECU won't work

Well the whole outside of the ECU is rusted so I opened it up and connections between the two motherboards or the ribbons are are completely corroded so I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol put it back in and it still doesn't work

The most common water path is following the wires down to the ECU connectors

Sockets in the wire connectors and pic ?

Pull the rubber seal boots as the wires exit the connectors

You'll likely experience an idle issue, which can be resolved with a TPS reset.

The TPS reset ( called ECU orientation to tune " to " the TPS and O2 sensors ) is the matching by electronically tweaking ( highly special equipment ) the ECU to the currently installed TPS and it's fine performance ( idle mechanical stop reading or null ) very effecting your idle

It is the luck of the draw to drop in a replacement ECU and the current TPS " match "

For that reason , I recommend to not remove or adjust the TPS until getting a better understanding of the ECU to TPS relationship , but see how it works out with a replacement ECU and get back

The X300 ECU has been internally ( boards and devices ) and both connector halves repaired by owners themselves and the ECU case side connectors are avail as a TE Connectivity brand ( Econoseal series III 070 size 36 Way / pin )

There are also X300 ECU repair shop sources

Hi Vee , here is a red one as a TE part # 344111-5

36 Way TE Connectivity Econoseal Female Red - automotiveconnectors.com

Look for a R - 493 sticker on your ECU and the replacement and the engine compartment as a mater to discuss as a separate chapter from core ECU replacement for water damage

I like the Cat Brain title as someone else's work ( Katar83 , Luke ) and contributions to keep your Jaguar purring

Low melting point liquid solder ( different from cleaning flux or conductive adhesive ) with an low temp air heat gun ( easy and easily excess amount controllable )

Liquid solder is avail from my local huge electronics supply store , will have to take a pic of my brand

You can try local pick your part type place, or try www.car-part.com. Any new ECU will need to have the idle adaptation done, as the idle speed control needs to be programmed to the specific throttle position sensor in the car. You may or may not need to also do an oxygen sensor orientation. The only way to do these calibrations is with Jaguar software.
