Won't start without starting fluid
I got this Jaguar with intermittent no starting problem
which soon turned to no start at all. I went to a local
junkyard and bought crankshaft position sensor. Put it in my
car and it started beautifully for a couple of times.
Next day, same story- No start. This time however it has
spark but injectors wont spray fuel at all. If I spray
starting fluid into the intake, the car will fire up and
will idle steady at 1500-1700 RPM. Even though the engine
idles very high, it works smooth. Turn it off, wait a couple
of minutes and then it won't start again. Spray some
starting fluid and voila it comes alive.
When the car is running if I press gas very quickly the RPM
will drop significantly before picking up again. If I press
gas slowly the RPM will rise fine and without hesitation.
What now? Maybe the Crankshaft position sensor is bad again?
I am running out of options.
P.S. My key in the ignition gets hot...
