Default Worlds worst xjr

Im 17 and been into jags my whole life, I just picked up this xjr in a trade deal for my serise 3 xj6 (along with a xj40, xj12 with this cars proper wheels, and 3 xjr6 wheels) this one while being by far the worst is the car I've been looking for the longest and as this one was pretty much free I'm glad I own it. It's a 1996 with pretty much all the options these had but well it's seen better days. It was a parts car for the xj12 and that was only after the P/O crazy daughter wreaked it and busted the rear passenger window. I've never owned a car that qualifies this much as a rolling parts car. Now 3 years have passed and the coastal water and salt have taken their toll on the interior and exterior. But I'm going to attempt to save it. I've already started to replace the taillights and doing my deepest clean on a car, so far unlike my former 2004 sl500 there hasn't been a single heroine needle. My local junkyard has cars in better shape and those will probably be stripped for a car that should be there. This will be a long Journey and any advice, help, (or part donations lol) will be greatly appreciated.

2003 jaguar xj8
2005 jaguar s type r (sold)
1998 jaguar xj8 (sold)
1986 jaguar xj6 (sold)
1996 jaguar xjr
1991 jaguar xj6
1995 jaguar xj12

Other cars
1984 porsche 928s (worlds worst)
1983 Mercedes 240d
1996 bmw 750il
2001 ford f150 v6 manual

the picture cant describe how moldy this seat was

you are a brave and foolish man, and i applaud you.

I would guess the simplest way to restore it would be to get a decent (and cheap) 3.2L donor car, and just strip it of everything including body panels and glass.
Or just transplant the XJR drivetrain over to the same donor, though that would be cheating

Unfortunately being in America we only had the 4.0 and those are becoming extremely hard to find for cheap, the original plan was to engine and transmission swap the xj40 but I can't kill an xjr

Good luck with it. It's a very charitable act to restore something that seems so neglected. Lot's of experience on here to help when needed.

BTW - you have a very impressive list of cars in your fleet for someone who is just 17 !

thank you I started flipping cars with a freind at 15 with a 250k mile salvage title w210 Mercedes and owned about 22 cars since then. I've always loved the xjr6 so this is definitely somthing I don't want to let die.

Default Day 2

I had hoped to get the entire interior out today but the texas heat was to much, instead working on the tail lights and electrical system. Both I had success on (also some inteior removal) anyway after sitting for 4 years everything came on with the exception of the radio. Goal of tomorrow is to get the seats and door panels off, possibly get the drivers door open.

X300 and x308

What is the condition of that 95 XJ12, can you save that car too? The XJR6 is rare, but the XJ12 is the rareist of the line. It needs saving.

Xj12 is in amazing shape. It just had a exterior restoration and only currently needs a headliner. Though I am worried about the headgasket

By your forum name, are you located in San Antonio? If so me and my XJ12 aren't that far away! I've had a total of 4 X300s and X308s so if you need a hand on anything, let me know!

yes I'm actually up in fair oaks ranch near boerne, I've had the same number of x308s and x300s. Are you in the SA jaguar club?
