X300 alarm problem? Lights flashing!

Many thanks for the advice.
I replaced the ignition switch and the starter issue was resolved.
However, I couldn't start the car straight away as the start just clicked....... as if the battery was dead.
I found what looked like an earth lead which attaches to the firewall. The stud was loose so I gave it a wiggle and the car started.
I think this is not actually a grounding point but a positive for the stater. I could be wrong.
I will need to somehow tighten the stud eventually..... however not sure how to gain access to the underneath.
Anyway, back on the road and it's a pleasure to drive.
