The rear window of my 1995 X300 has to be removed. My local garage has said that IF it is bonded (emphasis on if) then it will surely crack during removal.
My questions are:-

1. Can anyone tell me if the rear window is indeed bonded? &
2. Is it likely to be true that removal will surely lead to it cracking?

1. Yes it is bonded.
2. No it is not sure to crack. I had my rear screen removed by a local windscreen specialist and re-installed. No damage at all.

 

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I think that as my local garage are not windscreen replacement specialists, they are covering themselves by saying it might crack. I think I should suggest they employ a proper window replacement company to do the removal and replacement part of the job.

take it somewhere else. it should not crack and if it will it's a real pain removing this tiny bits from the saloon.
