Hi guys hope your all well, have this noise from what I think is coming from the supercharger have done a vid
the cars got a rough idle well more of a rumble but the high pitched noise sounds like grinding? Wondered if it needed oil in the SC but have read that they don't need changing, any suggestions or past experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the belt and spin the s/charger pulley and the s/charger idler pulley. You can tell by the feel and sound if you have a pulley bearing problem.
I've had to replace both (or is it three?) idler pulleys over the years. There's one of the s/charger and at least one more. Feeling a little silly that I can't remember at the moment but, anyhow, they make a rattle sound/grinding sound when they're worn out.
The 'snout' bearings of the supercharger can make noise as well, especially if run low on oil. Have you checked the level? There's a tiny filler plug at the front of the s/charger...takes an Allen key to remove it.
Might as well give the water pump a spin, too!
Cheers

It sounds a bit like the SC coupler noise that I currently have with my M62 SC on my 1995 Riviera.
I don't know if this wear issue exists with this Eaton SC, but with the M62 and M90 in GM applications, the plastic coupler inside the snout will wear and make a high rattle at idle. The sound is usually pretty pronounced, and normally goes away once the SC is under load.
Not sure that is what you have here, but a thought. Two ways to tell:
1) Put something like a screwdriver on the SC housing and put your ear to the screwdriver handle. The noise will telegraph and you can tell.
2) Take the belt off and you can usually feel the "play" in the SC pulley as you rotate it back and forth.
If so, fortunately the coupler is about a $20 part, but you do have to remove the snout to replace it which takes some time.
Here is some info:

Again, not sure if the XJR Eaton SC suffers the same issue over time.

Brilliant guys thanks for that, certainly something to keep me going lol, I was wondering if it was a bearing that was going as its occasional that I'll put my foot down and sometimes I don't hear the supercharger whine. Would that contribute to it idling roughly though? thought it was my coil packs which I've changed, new lambda sensors, CPS and coolant temp sensor, feel like i'm going to have a new car at this rate lol
