Default XJ40 & XJ6(300) share same front suspension?

Do the XJ40 & X300 share the same front suspension parts, namely, bushing lower front/rear/upper control arms & shock bushings?

Based on a quick review of part numbers on Jaguar classic parts, it would appear that the part numbers differ for some components, but that they are the same for others (including the lower damper bush.) So it would seem that the front suspension in total is not identical, but might be worth checking on a part by part basis.

I am specifically interested in upper & lower control arm bushings.

a visit to jaguarclassicparts.com will provide all the information you need, and is a very handy reference site for exploded parts diagrams

The late XJ40s ('93-'94 and possibly earlier) and X300s up to VIN 722476 have essentially identical front suspensions. At VIN 722477 the rear lower control arm was changed and at VIN 787954 the front lower control arm was changed. Other changes were made over the X300 production run, so I echo countyjag's recommendation to spend some time at jaguarclassicparts.com .

You can also download the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) from this forum and install it on your computer so you can look up parts diagrams and part numbers even when you're offline:

What the catalogs won't tell you is how significant any revisions may have been. You might look for Jaguar TSBs or New Model Introduction manuals that might shed light on the revisions.

Cheers,

Don
