Man it been weeks since I've been on here! My buddy and I took a trip to California a couple weeks ago. No sooner did I get home I left for New Hampshire with my dad and brother for our annual hiking trip. The XJR has had the backseats and dash completely ripped out for the last 3 weeks as I was trying to figure out replacing rear sub speaker.
After buying an aftermarket Alpine set my electrician buddy advised not doing it since tampering with factory premium systems can be touchy. He has a lot of distortion in his GT Mustang now since he replaced blown speakers with aftermarkets. I stooped to the level of ordering the one $150 speaker from my local Jag dealer. Put it all back together yesterday and it sound just beautiful again...
I'm going to post or add to this one detailed instructions for removal of seats and that pain in the *** rear dash...since I know a number of us on here have that same blown speaker issue.
Plus couple weeks ago I ordered the rear tranny mount after having it on a lift a few weeks back when the supercharger belt was replaced. Being a weak point on the XJR6 I had to check it out. The bushing between the top and bottom plate was literally falling apart every time I poked it....not good. Had the new one put in yesterday. Preventative maintenance is wonderful! =) The XJR is back up to par and I can finally now enjoy it!
