Hi guys,

Jaguar-labeled parts carry a hefty premium here in Germany, so for my upcoming transmission service I thought i'd be a wise-guy and buy a filter for the 4L80e for a Chevy truck.

I just noticed that this filter has ridges, and is the 2nd-generation filter designed for a deep-pan version of the 4L80e:





Or do I now have to get one of the ones for the early 4L80e (the one on the left):

It will be important to get one with the correct length of pipe as these transmissions have different pan depths and the truck one may not match the Jag one.

 

The correct filter for the XJR6 is JLM10952

FWIW I used the AC Delco TF249 on my XJR. Worked fine.
