I'm afraid that I don't repair ECUs, I only reprogramme them. What makes you think the ECU has failed, especially if you have tried fitting other ECUs. If they don't work either, then it seems more likely that the problem is with the car. X300s were prone to water ingress down the main engine harness. This can lead to corrosion in the connectors to the engine ECU. I would recommend checking the condition of these connectors. Also, crank position sensor can fail at around 100,000miles, and this will result in the engine cranking but not starting. In this situation the rev counter does not register when the engine is cranking, at typically 200rpm.
I thought it was the relays at first so I did that and it didn’t work. As of right now when I turn key dash lights come on but it won’t turn over. It won’t shift into any gear. The windows won’t roll down and the auto door unlock and lock doesn’t work. So that’s what led me to believe it was the ecu or body control module. And when I disconnected it nothing else stopped working.
Mr. XJRengineer, I want to ask how far you can take the tuning of the OEM ECU; I'm looking at swapping the M90 for an M112 on the AJ16S, and I'm wondering A) if I need to worry about the ECU not liking the change and B) if you'd be able to optimize the ECU for it?
I'm not sure what you mean by the first two lines... The Eaton M90 is the OEM blower on the AJ16S, correct?
Fuel pump, intercooler, radiator, and virtually everything not directly bolted to the engine is all going to be performance aftermarket parts (This is the Datsun project).
The part number of my ECU is LNA 1410 SC but there is a sticker on it stating "REWORKED TO LNA 1410SE 04/03/97"

I have already reprogrammed 2 engine ECUs for engine conversions to use Eaton M112 superchargers. I did the first such conversion on my own XJR6 over 15 years ago. I have built 2 further Eaton M112 conversion kits since then for other owners. One kit is in an XJR6 race car. The other is in an XJS. The standard 5.125g/sec fuel injectors have adequate flow rate for this upgrade at 12.5:1 AFR, but the airflow meter gets saturated at 1018kg/hr which is achieved at 4000rpm full load with this conversion. I have compensated for this effect by richening-up the nominal values in main fuel map to account for the under reading of the airflow. Please note that the Eaton M112 conversion is a major project requiring the re-engineering of the supercharger mounting bracket, oil filter mounting and complete intake system.

Hello, I was seeing if you are still reprogramming ECU’s. I have a 1995 XJS coupe and I want to swap in an XJR6 from a x300 sedan. I was wondering if you could reprogram an XJS aj16 Ecu to work with the xjr6 engine. Possibly delete the transmission Ecu so I can put in a manual transmission. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I still reprogramme engine ECUs for Jaguar AJ16 engines. Installing the engine from an XJR6 into an XJS is quite a popular project among some of my customers. I can certainly reprogramme the engine ECU from your XJS, as being post 94.75MY, the car already has an AJ16 engine. If you want the ECU programmed for a manual transmission, then this means that it will be programmed for European emissions specification, so will jt will not operate the EGR system or secondary air. You could also chose to remove the downpipe catalysts (local emissions regulations allowing), as OBDII will not be operational, so no catalysts monitoring. Owners also continue to be interested in auto to manual transmission conversions, in order to appreciate the full potential of the supercharged AJ16 engine. Other owners have a need to overcome failed X300 security systems which are now preventing their cars from starting or their engine ECUs have suffered from the dreaded water ingress issue which has affected may X300s. All of these projects or issues can be addressed with a reprogrammed AJ16 engine ECU.

I can testify what Andy could do as mentioned in his post. I have a 1995 auto XJR converted to manual and it failed to restart not due to the conversion but security issues. Andy’s remap resolved the starting problem and also enabled timing advance without the need for the Andy Bracket to achieve performance upgrade. Then a while later the XJR ECU fell prey to water ingress and was saved again by Andy’s another ECU. Without Andy’s expertise and efforts, my XJR would have perished. With the number of XJRs (and only 102 RHD XJRs ever built with an original manual transmission) reducing in numbers due to body rust and other gremlins, anyone daring to take on a project of auto to manual conversion or simply recovering their X300s from a dead ECU would appreciate the availability of a proven solution which Andy readily offers.

Unfortunatelly the engine does not start, so I am planing to use a standalone ECU like Omex (also used in my Lotus)
Do you have the fuel an ignition map, to get the Omex mapped?

Starter and fuel pump are working well. There is a positive signal at the fuel injectors an the ignition is working.
I pulled out the injectors to see what happended: at the first crank they injected one time and also when I ended cranking.
A friend told me, to check the engine lamp. During cranking, the lamp is still on.
Suggest opening a separate thread on your AJ16 engine starting in a Series 2 body still in the X300 area
Using a X300 Body Processor Module ?
Using the proper engine ECU for the supercharger AJ16 vs. for the normally asperated AJ16 ? This effects the proper fuel injection charge pulse width ( map )
If using the X300 BPM and the starter is rotating you have the agreements from the security lock control module , engine ECU , transmission position switches and partial ignition switch contacts making
By engine lamp , are you referring to the red engine check light ?
In sourcing the engine from an other vehicle's last days history and storage time between it may have been placed in a bore wash condition
This is where the cylinder walls are washed or lacking compression seal for successful on up start up
This can be overcome in 2 ways :
Hold the pedal to the floor and the ECU knows to not put fuel in the cylinders and allows lubricant from below the piston to reestablish on the cylinder walls
Then a normal foot off the pedal start sequence with your foot off the pedal and a good battery recharge before attempting
The second way is to pull the plugs and placing some oil on top of the pistons , it will smoke , smoke , smoke a lot until burnt off
By power " sitting " on the injectors you have confirmed you have both power sources to the ECU , socket Red 33 ( first power ) and Red 17 and Black 24 ( both second power )
The fuel system piping on the Series 2 may not have a check valve in the fuel pump to trap initial start sequence fuel pressure and can be overcome by a extenal to the tank check valve of a certain size
You can crack open a fuel line on the correct side of the fuel pressure regulator to confirm as it should hold for days
This trapped fuel pressure should be checked with the ignition in off
Fuel pressure 43 PSI ? This being higher than a carberated fuel system fuel pump
