Hi Andy there is one original xj6r manual here in NewZealand a1994 with close to 3 hundred K/MS. Its just sitting next to a shed with grass to the top of the wheels. It is a burgandy in colour and i think from memory it has cloth seats.i can see iff i can get more details on it for your registor if needed as it is close by. I have my one which is a 1997 that i converted.I had to make up my own peddle box modifying an auto peddle box and used peddles from a XJ40 2.9 Manual that had been wrecked.they are the same part number as XJ300.

I would be very grateful if you could email me directly (andystodart@metronet.co.uk) any more details of this car. According to my records only one red manual XJR6 was ever exported from the UK. It was Flamenco red with an oatmeal interior. I have the VIN. It would be ideral if you could confirm the VIN of the car that you have seen to me directly, not via this site. The VION is in the bottom of the widnscreen on the RH side facing the car.
It is very sad to hear of such a rare car in such a poor condition. Does the owner know what he has got?

Hi Andy there are 2 XJR300 manuals here in NewZealand that i know of; one is an original 1994 and my own one which is a1997 that i converted about a year ago. The original 94 car has high miles on the clock and is just sitting next to a shed in long grass and covered in mould. From what i have heard it was one of the first few produced and was used at Jaguar as run about car. I think from memory it is Burgandy in colour with cloth seats as it was probably 4 years ago when i last saw it. You may know the car since you were at Jaguar then. I can find out more about it for your register if you wish as it resides not to far from where i live and i also know the owner.

second hand prices seem to of hit rock bottom,
Now's the time to buy :-)
surely a future classic; if not now??
"Classic" seems to be in the eye of the beholder :-).
If they're a classic then they must be the lowest price "classic car" on the market today! Of course, market value alone shouldn't be the only measure. There are many great cars worth owning, IMHO, that have never been "worth" much on the market.
XJR/6 fans certainly consider them a classic, I suppose. Or, at minimum, a "desirable" model. The automotive enthusiast world in general? Not so much. Same with the magnificent X300 V12s.
For umpteen years now the fan of XJSs and Series XJ6/XJ12s have been waiting to be elevated from "It's just another old used Jag" status. If it's happening, the pace is snail-like.
Cheers
