XJR6 throttle spring woes

‘My XJR6 throttle body springs have fatigued and don’t fully close the throttle every time. New ones are unavailable. My mechanic has put on a stronger spring but this limits throttle opening to 50% of maximum, presumably due to some ‘slip’ in the traction control unit.
i was hoping the traction control unit could be bypassed completely with a one-piece cable connecting accelerator pedal to throttle, but I don’t know whether the ECU expects some continuous input from the traction control unit - presumably not, given there is a TPS.
Another option is to have a one-piece cable to the throttle body, bypassing the traction unit, and still have the original first half of the cable connecting pedal to traction unit so it thinks it’s connected....
any experience out there?

It's NA vice supercharged, but here's some visuals on putting an extra turn on the spring:

You don't need new springs, although they are still available from JCP, only got a replacement couple of months ago from my local dealer. Simply add an extra turn to both two top springs and it will open/close as new. Details here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...0/#post1837396
