'00 XJ8 with Viper remote start
Had system installed and everything works fine, until out of the blue, the car dies and cannot be jump started. After replacing the battery everything works fine. 10 days later it happened again. D&R the battery ground after a few seconds fixes the issue. The car has been with the installer for a week and they are unable to duplicate (thus troubleshoot) the issue.
I feel that the Viper is causing the Jaguar system to lock down.
Any ideas I can pass on?

You may wish to review this old thread... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...llation-70093/ ...after the first few posts he details the install. Just something to review in case you see something that helps.

Intermittent Viper
Thanks for pointing out that thread. I have hopes that someone that installed a Viper remote start/alarm would have some tips on where the problem might be. That being said, your link has me thinking about the valet key that is being used. If the key isn't responding 100%, to the unlock/start command, the car loses all power and cannot be jump started. That tells me that the factory immobilizer is active.
Thanks for your kind input.
