Hello Everyone. I recently purchased a 2001 Jaguar Vanden Plas Supercharged (White w/tan leather) with 105K on it off of Ebay. I also have a heavily modified 2003 R1 (CATS). I currently have the VDP SC in the shop for some reconditioning and they stated the rear bushings and CATS shocks have worn out. I am trying to figure out if it's worth replacing the OEM CATS shocks or switching to Bilstein's? Do the Bilstein's change the ride quality? I can say the CATS make a tremendous difference on my 03 XJR. Take in consideration I've also owned a 2001 XJR w/o CATS. That car felt light in the rear end at high speeds. Any suggestions?

 

Are the OE not Bilstein?

 

I didn't think CATs was available stateside in 01?

Yes. The 2001 model had CATS. That's what attracted me to buying the VDP SC.

 

I would stick with CATS, it's sad to see cars be stripped of their unique and beneficial special options. Sure they're nearly $400 a shock but these were $80,000 cars!

They made it to 100k so the new ones are likely to do the same
