01 XJ8 L wheel noise?
Hello all.
When I start driving between 10-25mph I tend to hear a sound coming from a wheel or wheels. It seems like it happens every 2 seconds, maybe each revolution of the wheels? It's hard to describe, but it does appear to go away/appear very faint at higher speeds. It kinda sounds like a woo....woo...woo....Probably not the best description, but thats all I have.
I'm assuming it may be the wheel bearings?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm going to assume that I should not be driving this vehicle until I fix this issue. I was planning on going for a day trip, about 120 mile this weekend, but guess not

I had a similiar noise that turned out to be the drivers front wheel bearing. I did not yet have any place when I wobbled the wheel so it tok time to find the source of the noise. If you move the brakes pads slightly away from the brake rotor and then put the tire back on and spin each front wheel you will feel a grittyness on the side with the bad bearing when you rotate the wheel.
Until I moved the pads away I could not feel or hear the difference. After I did it was obvious right away

This is the reason why I had a PPI done 1.5 months ago. Hopefully the mechanic will be able to tell me if this is fairly a new problem or old. I do not think the PPI, done at a local Jaguar dealership, should have missed this.

rear wheel bearings
The right rear on my 2002 XJ8 has totally disintegrated. The series of noises it made were very strange insomuch as the first sign sounded like I had run over something on the road - then seconds later - nothing. Car ran great for weeks then the same thing again. Finally, we put it up and sure enough, the wheel has about an inch of vertical play.
Does anyone have a good DIY for making this repair?
I've seen some but the first problem is the reqired tool (at $150). Is this just a 32mm socket?
Thanks

Stewarts Automotive gave me a call and advised me the front left bushing is completely thrashed and needs to be replaced. I still think the PPI done by the local dealership should have caught this as it was less than 2 months ago and I have oly put 700 miles on the car.
Amyways, the part will take 2 days to arrive. The repair costs is $316, which seems fair.
Thoughts on the price and the PPI?
