hey JTP, i know that sounds like a general tech question 'MAF sensor check with an Ohm meter", but I really think you'll get alot of better advice, in addtiion to using a meter to check the MAF sensor, in your X308 subforum. Give it a shot, and good luck!

That would be the easiest way of determine if the MAF is out of specs is to find out the ohm's valus (resistance).
Since you are familar with a meter, all you need to do is a quick search to find the resistance values.
My quick search came up empty handed.

Back in the 80's, this how my daddy taught me and never had a issue with damaging my cars. Now that I am a ASE tech, I use the proper tools to figure thing out (most of the times).
But, here is the side street mechanic way of testing the MAF. Start the car, then unplug the sensor, if the car idle jumps/engine smooth out, then you need to replace the MAF.
How did you clean the sensor? MAF cleaner? did you use a brush? If you use a brush most likely you destroyed it. Can not understand why there are youtube video with people clean MAF with brushes, the wire is so thin and can easy break with any type of pressure.
You should ONLY clean the MAF with the spray can cleaner, spray let dry, spray let dry, spray let dry, thats all.

Before you get deep into this go back and check that the filter cover and MAFS are installed properly, plugs and all clamps/clips. At times when reinstalling the intake hose and air box we do not get it closed properly resulting in an air leak. It is critical that you have no leaks in the intake system. As for cleaning the MAFS you should only use the cleaner designated for it and whatever you do, you do not wipe or touch the sensor let it air dry.
