'01 XJ8L Brakes
My recently acquired '01 XJ8L needs front brakes (62k miles). It has a slight squeal and I can feel some grooving on the rotors, so I am expecting to need new rotors when I take it in and would like to source parts myself to avoid a sore rear, if possible.
Can anyone recommend a good cost/quality rotor? Looking online I see Brembo rotors at a good price but don't know if that is part of a system or just replacement. Do Brembos require special pads. I just want good braking at reasonable cost.
Thanks for any pointers!

Brembo makes a quality standard replacement rotor. If you plan on keeping your car for a while I recommend getting them cyrogenically treated for a much longer life.

Also get a set of quality pads. Performance Friction and Disc Italia are the only two companies that I know of that make a high compression molded pad for the X308's. Other companies such as Hawk. Akebono, etc also make good quality low compression molded pads that last longer and don't dust as much as stock pads.
