Takes about 15 minutes with simple hand tools to remove the rear muffs... Try it and see what you think of the sound.

I have been thinking about it too, but from what I have heard there is no noticeable difference. That being said why not remove it, save on some weight maybe 40 to 50 pounds or so??? Less weight better gas and performance atleast.

Really? Thats a bummer, I remember my single Harley Truck Exhaust was pretty heavy but then again it was 24 inches long (if I remember correctly)

I've done it. Sounds AMAZING when it first turns over and you get a little growl.....then it quickly dies down to almost nothing at idle Still a nice little burble though, you can actually hear the muffled power instead of dead silence.

When you get on it you can hear a difference. I still have them off because I like it, and yes, it only takes about 1/2 hr with a socket and some pulling and twisting. I've gotten quite a few complements on it by complete strangers, actually.

IIRC exhaust is 2.25~2.5" ish, and the mufflers are REALLY light. Like probably no more than 10lbs like the other guy said...haha.

When I'm done putting the bike back together and installing my speakers in the Jag I'm taking more of the exhaust off to see what I want to do with it. Probably going to install an X-Pipe when I get the time.

Here's the sound bite I took when I did it:

Jagga, It'll be a while, but I'll post up when/if I do. I'm gonna need it custom made since the pipes are so close together. Right now I've got too many projects going on - the CBR is in 50,000 pieces right now, the Spectre is in "sale-prep" mode getting everything cleaned up and in good shape for being sold, and the Jag has a speaker/sub install going on right now. This is my garage right now - too much going on!

Yeah, if I remember correctly it's the 3.5" by 9" filter. It's an AEM DryFlow. When I get time I'm going to do it right but for now it's slipped onto the MAF and secured with the clamp that came with it. It really shouldn't be right on the MAF but it's alright for the time being.
