The problem is that a drain only gets half the fluid out (well, 4 out of 7.5 litres). To ensure that most of the fluid is changed, you need to repeat the process at least 2 more times. I used 10 litres of fluid to do this.
The first time, I drained out 4 litres from the drain plug, cleaned out the pan, changed the filter.
The second and third time, I extracted the fluid via the dipstick, which gets you about 3 litres.
So the percentage old fluid = (3.5/7.5) x (4/7.5) x (4/7.5) = 13.3%. It'll have to do! If you did all 3 changes via the drain plug, the percentage of old fluid drops to 10%.
