Hell I haven't felt so blue since YOU guys talked me into fixing this POS....
YES BLAMING YOU 2 !
Hello hope you guys are doing well.....
I had enough of this car! Grrrrrr..
Took forever in such a tight space to redo the wire ,But its done Finally! !
1 screw up ! It took several attempts before I got it pretty much the way it was before on the last try when I finally got it all done and metered it out ,got a good ground and a good signal wire voltage Steady 4.7 v on both knock sensors lines...
I can only hope 4.7v is the norm,
That's when I seen my screw up.. I forgot to put my shrink rap back on the line.... grrrr
Not going to attempt redoing it... Some good high heat tape that should work just fine....

Anyways that's my update. .
Stay safe...

Good morning guys...
Hope were still doing good/healthy.
So far everything seem good, not perfect but so much better since replacing both knock sensors, repairing the wiring, putting the new fuel injectors back in, running new fuel Thu it and replacing the fuel filter again...I'm kinda happy with it...
what I did notice is after going through almost 5 gallons of fuel, I pulled the spark plugs again they seem to be burning even ,But the plugs are a Bosch G6 hey are gapped at just about 36mm I didn't install them I was told they were new and do look new, newer. So far not finding much information on if theses plugs or if they are ok for this car...Looking through the site it seems theses are what's recommended -
NGK Iridium IX BKR5EIX-11. 8.99 EACH...
IF I don't get a reply from Bosch about the plugs I'll replace them.
Next is the driver's side sunvisor not to sure how that thing works or if replacing will increase HP...
Any thoughts on the spark plus????
Thanks guys.
Stay safe and healthy.

MrJ,

Yes correct spark plugs are the NGK BKR5EIX-11 Iridiums. Gap is 43thou, although Jaguar did issue a notice saying increasing the gap to 50thou could/does give a smoother idle. I have tried both gaps and personally i prefer the 43thou.

They are a little pricey, I bought mine on Amazon.

Hi CK.
How are you and the lawn doing?

I can get a set of 8 today for $54.21 with advance auto speed perk and 25% off coupon. .
Other than that it start within 2,3 seconds idle starts at around 900rpms and drops to around 600 . No check engine light No leaks No weird sounds No smoke No Codes after 20,30 starts and letting it run Thu the 5 gallons of fuel just a slight roughness.
I did try using my inline spark tester they all fire just can't tell if any coil is stronger/weaker than the others...
when I go to get the spark plugs I'm also going to pick-up some shell super since I'm just about out of fuel again see if that with the new plugs help..
Then Maybe I Can work on the Breaks!!
And check transmission fluid level.

Not to jump ahead, but I can definitely recommend Akebono's premium brake pads, very low dust and great progressive feel.

Fronts are EUR-394As and rears are EUR-688A

Wow! Those are expensive. .
Do they come with a Installer?
Knowing my luck this car is going to need rotors and probably calipers also...
may go for the cheapest and give the car to my ex wife. I'll coat the rotors with a good quality grease for rust protection.

Not that expensive........$90 bucks, best brake pads available, delivered to your door (They do almost install themselves, just need a little help)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/PREMIUM-AKE...AAAOSwkeFerfNy
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Akebono-EUR...QAAOSwwqxeqf1S

Or you could go cheap and spend the rest of your life cleaning brake dust from your wheels and have a spongy brake pedal.

As for the mowing............got to one end, now need to start again at the other!.

Ok My bad I only checked amazon and tire rack.
70+ a set.. 40$ somethng isn't bad....
Thank you...
believe me if I could get away with a 12$ set I would... I don't see this as a daily driver for me... More like a money pit or Worse a FORD.
LIke I said think it's going to need everything at each wheel pads, rotors, caliper And one wheel sensor so far. Oh and Wheel Studs / Lugs too.
Probably the flex lines to the calipers.
This car was last seen at the land rover dealer in 2014, for fuel pump and fuel filter. The inspection and registration exp, 2015 that's how long I think it sat.
I'll keep going until I completely lose interest.
Then I'll park it outside and put a bird feeder on the roof..
I miss having a garage with some room in it....lol

Morning guys...
This car hates me!
Ok yesterday I got the new plugs installed, new fresh fuel it seems to be smoother let it idle for about 30 mins called it a day...
This morning I came out to the garage and started it within 5 seconds the idler pulley started screaming! Ok normal wear part...
Problem is I can't find a replacement as this one, One with the flange the tensioner pulley is easy to find...
Question do you think that flange is necessary?
Anyone Bueller, Bueller?

That bearing itself is replaceable and much cheaper to do than buying the pulley. It changes very quickly also.

I'm fairly sure this is the one I bought to replace mine 6 yrs ago...
