Default 12.28 @ 117 mph 1/4 mile (Now 11.924@118.82)

Well I was finally able to make it to the dragstrip yesterday, on the last day of the season no less. Conditions were great; sunny and chilly.

Best time was 12.280 ET @ 117.11 mph. It's a 99 XJR.

Track: Empire Dragway/NYIRP
Elevation: 910'
Temperature: 57
Humidity: 54%
Baro: 30.08

Nearly bald, 9 year old Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires.

Car # 162

Sorry about no video; the person who was supposed to come with me to record bailed out.

Edit: Latest run is 11.924@118.82
.

I thought I was the only one with access to Muppet Labs....?

How did you overcome the anti-proton/proton reaction neural net feedback loop problem?

And how, pray tell, did you generate the 1.21 Gigawatts needed?

The muppets calculated you would then show about 385 RWHP on a dyno....yes?

A 12.28 is certainly worthy of some measure of recognition.

Using this calculator: Calculate HP with HP Correction - Wallace Racing
puts me at 519 hp. So that should be about 425 rwhp on a Dynojet.

And it could very well be more due to not being able to put down full throttle during launch, so the true output would be higher.

I'll have to re-weigh the car again, but the total weight should be very close to 4000 lbs.

93 octane pump gas.

This will easily be in the 11's with some additional changes. Just drag radials and LSD should be sub-12 sec.

Next spring Planning on installing an LSD over winter.

Thundercat, can't wait to see what your car will do.

Well i am impressed. Well done, congratulations & jealously heading your way.

I bet everyone is searching your posts now trying to discover your secrets

Although I thought the Wallace calculator gave rwhp, not flywheel? If so WOW!

What's your secret?

I haven't really mentioned it so searching would be fruitless
I'd rather not say, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out
And no NOS.

The calculator doesn't specify, but I definitely don't have 500 rwhp. I look at only the mph estimate, as the ET is more for dedicated drag cars, and 519 flywheel is fairly accurate.

Again, hp estimates from 1/4 mile runs will be on the low side, since you can't launch properly with our cars, especially without drag tires and LSD.

This does explain why you couldn't measure the 3.5" elbow anymore

Is yours the stage 2 kit? How easy was the install?

Your knocking on the 11's door. I'm afraid I'm being left in the proverbial dust with all these new twin screws popping up, 3 in process that I know of, and after those are reviewed, I'm hoping to see more grow from that.

Way to go AVOS ! you deserve your success !

I'm still using the stock throttle body but it and the 3.5" elbow are in a different position now so that's why I couldn't double check the hood clearance for you.

Unfortunately I am not able to provide a Stage 2 kit for the AJ26 engines, it’s more a Stage 1.5, but there are some small bits left to do to make use of that. So with little effort there is more to come, even without changing the upper pulley.

Well, honestly, an 11 secondable 4000 lb car in my book is "supercar" fast, and again, in my book, is fast enough!

Congratulations are in order, and looking forward to a sub 12 second time slip when the traction problems are somewhat tamed.

I'm turning green over here, I may just have to have a talk with the boys in the lab....

Thanks! Don't know if that's the record, but it's the fastest I've seen documented. Has anyone seen faster? I know Matt Moran was at 12.4 @109 mph.

Stock TB? So you still have a 75mm?

I would think a quick 1 week turnaround and $150 to Maxbore would be money well spent.

So are your bottlenecks at the moment the stock MAF and TB?
Avos recommended to me to get the Kenne Bell boost a pump, have you done so already? I've just ordered mine (dual pump model) I found online for $259.

I am going with a larger MAF 92mm from Pro-M and 83mm TB from Maxbore. I'll let you know how the MAF works out as soon as I know.

You ought to add your time to the record books as the fastest proven XJR while you can still keep that title (hint hint)

Stock TB and MAF.

I will try to do something about the TB over winter. Since it's an AJ26, you can't just swap it out for a larger diameter one as with the later cars. I will at least have it bored if nothing else can be done.

There was no aftermarket larger MAF for the AJ26 either, until now. So I'll be getting a larger MAF.

When my fuel pump failed, I installed a Walbro 255 fuel pump in place of the secondary pump. It's good for about 500 hp in addition to the stock primary one.

I say to anyone- bring it on It's not like I should be hard to beat anyways.

We should start a thread with a list of Jag (all models) 1/4 mile times from forum members on here.
