Congrats Steve!!

Did you do the 4.2 swap? Or is this an original engine?

Greetings!

Is this housed within the stock 14 HU casting from the V8- with the standard V8 3.06 ratio crown wheel and pinion? How many splines are in the carrier for the diff? 19 as per old 15 Hu and old Dana 44?

What are the bolt sizes in the carrier and crownwheel? Are they 10 x 15mm bolts all around like on the older 15 HU casting?

Im currently looking into renovating the old 15 Hu with dana 44 internals but using 30 splines for strength and so I can use an eaton true trac or torsen

Yes, that's the stock 14 HU. Everything is stock other than the lsd. I had Coventry West install it. That lsd was designed to work with the Jag 14 HU.

When Quaife was installed to my car, I got first wrong part - it was for 15 HU with 19 which did not fit. 14 HU has 25 and fitted well with right part. The shop was talking about "25 grooves" Here details for the right Quaife:

Thank you very much gentlemen.

I'm working with the 15 HU as a base unit. The 14 HU just makes me think of the useless ones who worked on it. The 15 HU uses a 8.5 inch crownwheel and is compatible with the the older 4 HU which is indestructable. The 14 HUs crownwheel is under sized.

I'm looking into doing a lot of custom machine work.

The Quaife gives other options. What kind of price range are we talking?

And for the OS Giken?

Racing Green Jaguar. - XJ V8 1997-2003, Differential, Limited Slip . Quaife do not sell QDF5W directly( this was at least three years ago ). You may get it from a few special resellers. QDF1W which is for older 15 HU you can buy from Quaife webshop.

I believe the OS Giken was retailing for $1800. I got a deal for several hundred less.
