Hi,
My 97 x308 aircon does not work. I am told that the evaporator is leaking internally and needs to be replaced.
QUOTES RANGE FROM $750 TO $3500

I can buy a new evaporator for $ 375
Is this something That I can replace myself?
They say the entire dash has to be removed to do this, is that right?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Can anyone recommend a Service shop in Melbourne Australia.
An independant Jag dealer advised me to scrap the car as it's not worth the expense. (Not happening)

I note you posted this in 2014.
