Hi Guys, yes I'm new here and in the UK. I'd love to see some of your photos but cant seem to connect to the servers you use.

Still I have a 1997 XJ8 that I'm bringing back to life I'll post photos as the work gets done. I think it will be awesome when finished. Always loved this shape and this is my 9th so I'm doing it to keep.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Its had all the mechanics done and a new roof lining fitted (Did it myself) now its going off to have the front wings replaced this weekend. When finished I can start on the body and leather.

I'm thinking of matt blacking all the chrome and wheels, tinting glass and lights, red mesh grill behind the standard grill, and red callipers. What do you think?

Also, maybe someone can tell me how to post photos here. I've tried but cant attach them I'm asked for a URL. My photos are on my computer??

 

I use photobucket for posting pics on the forums hun ( although not this one yet ). What colour is your XJ8? I like the sound of matt black wheels etc but for me would depend on the colour of the car xx

When I want to post the JPEG files in Jaguar Forum, I use the Advanced Reply so I can add the JPEG file as an attachment (Attachment option - Manage Attachments, Choose File, Upload).

Then I close the Manage Attachments, then place my cursor where I want to put the file attachment, then open the Attachment option and click on the uploaded file attachment (it then shows up as an attachment ID number.

Then I use the Preview Post and when the new screen opens I right click on the image to bring up the options menu and click on the "open link as new tab", then I go to the new tab

and copy the web address "//www.jaguarforums.com/forum/newreply.php?do=postreply&t=123233" by highlighting it (hold down the left mouse button and drag across the internet web address the right click and use copy menu option.

Then I go back to the tab where I am posting the reply and delete the line that has the attachment number and the I use the Insert Image option (yellow icon) and paste the copied web address there.

This gives the desired result - a large view of the images and text that is in the jpeg file.
