Good Morning group, I am attempting to replace the tilt motor on the above mentioned car. I removed the old motor, but I am having a heck of a time getting the new unit installed. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. The alignment of the actuator into the motor coupling is my main problem. Do I have to drop the steering column to finish this project. Thank you for any advice.

I always plug the motor assy (mechanically disconnected from the column) into the car an run the motor UP until it stops.
Then 'hand-twirl' the column plastic male drive end to the max height and back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
Slide the plastic drive coupler together and level the motor assy until you can install the 2 screws. (I use a long 4mm ball end Allen 3/8" drive)
If you do not set the UP end point, the motor will not know where the upper limit is and try to drive past the mechanical stop.

Thank you Motorcarman, you description will help me get this thing back together. One issue I was having was lining up the bracket for the wire connectors to be hung on, and trying to get the bolts started at the same time. but I will get back at it tomorrow, I'll have the whole day to tackle it. I have to say again, this Forum is a great way to get advice and information. thank you again.
