1998 Jaguar XJR no injector pulse or fuel pressure
Hello, new to Jaguar have 14 Porsche 928s, 944 and 924s. So I was a tech and good with electrical. I just purchased a 1998 XJR with 131k. Always liked the look and drove several and was impressed. The one I purchased was in a garage for about 11 years. Husband died wife took it out in the rain a spun it from what I under stand. I read about cylinder wash. I have no fuel pressure , no injector pulse. I checked intertia swtch and it was up. So I reset it still no fuel pumps even after jumping relays . No injector pulse with noid tester. What I was wondering is does alarm system shut off injectors and pump? I have a feeling its going to be some thing simple its just I'm not familar with Jaguars. Thanks in advance

The inertia switch does not always reset
You can put a paper clip between the 2 white wires
Other then the pump power fuses there is a control fuse for both # 1 and # 2 ///////// # 16 / 10 amp
The ignition positive relay must click closed for power to this fuse

get fuel to the rail and then begin diagnosis. i recommended draining the tank and grinding an access hole through the rear shelf. quick, easy and no smelling like gas
use two of these pumps

I bought my car a couple years ago...39Kmiles, well cared for snow bird vehicle. Started and ran fine when we took it off the transporter and put it in the garage for short storage period. Precisely the same symptoms you describe when I tried to start it six weeks later. Both pumps had failed just sitting in the garage. I used the Delphi pumps from Autozone as replacements. Got the in-tank pickup screens/filters from Rock auto. I chose the "through the parcel shelf "access method, but if I was a little younger and a lot more flexible, I'd have likely pulled the tank into the trunk area. Be extremely care not to break off any of the plastic nipples on the tank access cover....would be an expensive repair.
Anyway, here's a thread about going in through the parcel shelf. (Also, be advised that it can take many repetitions of the driving profile to get associated computer trouble codes to erase following the fuel pump replacement).

The easiest way to change a fuel pump in an X308 this is from experience. Go next-door get your 90 pound neighbor offered Two bottles of vodka for her help. It took her three minutes to disconnect them and then a couple hours later another three minutes to put them back on I have done this before and can’t even get my hands up inside there. This girl is definitely not afraid of Greece. She is known for recreational Bad behavior one was peach flavored the other one was berry flavored. The next day I did not see her until afternoon if I ever have to do another fuel pump it might take rum!
