Default 1998 VDP parting out

Ok, this is my first or second post so I am kinda new to this forum but I have been logging on and browsing for about 9 months. I currently have a XJ8 vdp that am trying to sell but I am not getting any offers ( 1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas ). Now I am at wits end and I think I am going to just part this thing out. If there is anybody out there that can use some excellent 308 parts just let me know thanks. Mike.
I know this is crazy and on the border of stupidity but I feel this is the only way to move this car.

Simply a suggestion, but I would try a higher end used car sales place and see if they will consign it for you.

That is a sweet car. The driver's seat could use some dye touch-up, but it looks like all the bases have been covered. What a shame.

Why, oh why........didn't you post this over here couple of weeks ago? This thing would be in my garage now. As it is, I just bought one for my wife, and IF the third one would join the pack, it would need to be an XJR.

If I saw this one when my wife demanded to get one, I WOULD buy it. I hope someone from this forum jumps on it. With rebuild tranny, and all the engine upgrades, 134K miles is NOTHING to worry about.

If this would be my car,.....it would not be for sale.

It does seem like you did A LOT of maintenance and mods. What's gone wrong now to push you to your wits end?

I know that this is a crazy idea and I do appreciate the positive comments. I would love to sell this car whole to somebody that can keep it road worthy but there are not that many people around that fully know the value of these cars. The reason I am selling is because I need a mid size SUV to haul a medium trailer.

Its actually pretty amazing what a good interior detail will do to spruce up an interior, looks like the carpet might need a bit of attention.

The other (probably bigger issue) is the non-matching center armrest and driver seat wear. It is INCREDIBLY easy to color match and dye the leather and it will look nearly new when its done.

When I was looking for a Jaguar, the 1998 VDP that I eventually bought had some cosmetic issues overall, but the one that gave me biggest pause was the driver seat. It wasn't worn quite to that level, though, but I almost didn't buy the car because of it.
I stopped during the test drive (I was alone in the car) and asked my friend Google to see how leather dye was done. VERY easy.

When you sell a Jag, you are really also selling something like an experience. Mechanically and the exterior look pretty spot-on, you just need to do a little sprucing up of the inside. Probably $30 in leather dye and an hour of your time will go a long ways.

Alright, now that I have had a few days to think about my own stupidity. I am not going to part this out! I am going to refurb the drivers seat and keep my asking price firm and if does not sell, I will continue to drive and enjoy the luxury of the Jag. Thanks to all of your logical replies. Now for sale 98 Jag xj8 VDP. 3500.
