hi all,

i've got a 1998 XJR that had a clogged EGR and i decided to replace it due to the fact that i keep smelling fuel and that i keep getting random codes for my bank 2 upper o2 sensor. (I believe it was p0151 and p0171.) Everything was replaced with NEW factory parts. The EGR new and old were both DENSO with matching part numbers. The codes were then erased, and then I started the vehicle. when it started, I was immediately greeted with a RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE message/ code and a CEL/MIL that lead to the code P1112. the code stays behind the P1000 emissions not ready code which leads me to believe that my standard OBD II reader cannot erase it. I've looked at the code carefully and through research through the other threads that it meant the Intake Airflow Temperature sensor is bad. well, to my luck, I found a wire that was broken off the connector to the Mass Air Flow sensor. this lead me to believe that I'd simply have to repair the connector and everything will be fine. (sadly, i was mistaken...) after soldering in a brand new connector to my MAF, the code persists. This code has not at any time coming up before the EGR replacement. i have ordered a new MAF but am unsure if this will correct the issue because i have a spare MAF LNC1620AA and tried it out with no difference, the code still persisted even after swapping out the MAF that I've tucked away and have not used. the final attempt at resolution, I tried to disconnect the battery over night with no results. I am unsure which route to go to next. please help!
